The key of my integrated lock broke off and is stuck in the frame. What do I do?
Last Updated -
Days do not often start worse than this!
Luckily, the piece of key can often still be removed from the lock.
You will need the following tools:
- A good lockspray (not WD-40. We recommend PS-88)
- A small, flat screwdriver
- Small flathead pliers which fit the keyhole
First spray a good amount of lockspray into the lock.
Next, use the flat screwdriver to allign the keyhole perfectly so there is nothing blocking the key's way out
Finally, carefully use the pliers to pull out the piece of key.
It may take a couple of tries but you should be able to succeed.
